The Queen Anne’s Amateur Radio Club (QAARC) invites Queen Anne’s and surrounding county amateur radio operators and all persons interested in amateur radio to attend one of our membership meetings and consider joining the club. Our club was formed in the spring of 2010 because of a need to support amateur activity and communication in the Queen Anne’s County Area. We provide communications support to other nonprofit groups during public events.
Amateur radio in Queen Anne's county began years ago with the Kent Island Amateur Radio Club (KIARC). We are fortunate to have founding members of KIARC involved with our new organization. Our club is comprised of "seasoned hams" as well as a few new "techs."
Our members are dedicated to increasing the skills and experience gained through amateur radio to further communications and electronics to benefit the public. Members can further their skills by participating in the Queen Anne’s County RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services) group. QAC RACES supports Queen Anne’s County’s Emergency Management during times of natural disasters and civil emergencies.
